Celine told her grandmother (Gloria Romero), about the truth which then led to her heart attack. that took her life. Celine vowed to straighten her life, and decided to endure her sorrowful union with Frank and gave up her hopes to be with Steve as well as withholding the truth as to Gwen’s real father.
Meanwhile, in Cebu, Steve’s fate was intertwined with Robbie whose parents got killed during a burglary which Steve managed to foil.Without any relatives to go to, Steve is forced to take care of the boy while waiting for his sister Celina (Maricar Reyes) to come home from Taiwan. Steve later develops feelings for Celina and continues to be with her and Robbie through the years that pass.
